Industry Representation
OPI is the voice of the oil and gas, hydrocarbon storage and solution mining industries in Ontario with the public, government, media and industry stakeholders. Through OPI’s government relations activities, you will be kept up-to-date on new government initiatives, including the opportunity to provide input into legislative and regulatory changes and enhancements. Let people know that you support your own industry by joining the association that ensures your voice is heard. Oil, Gas, Salt Resources Trust Corporation In 1997, under Bill 52 – The Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act, OPI began administering the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Trust on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. As Trustee, OPI operates the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Library, which specializes in the collection, generation and distribution of information on the subsurface geology, and petroleum and salt resources in Ontario.
Education and Training
By keeping Members abreast of rapidly changing regulations, technological advancements and market opportunities, OPI Members can manage their business activities using the latest information. Plan to participate in our Annual Meeting & Convention, held in November, as a delegate, exhibitor or presenter. Technical proceedings from the convention seminars are published in hard-covered bound volumes and are sold to libraries and companies throughout the western world. An Index of our proceedings is also available upon request. Our Spring and Special Dinner Meetings focus on specific late-breaking industry issues. Our bi-monthly newsletter includes all the relevant information to keep you informed about activities in Ontario.
Marketing and Promotion
OPI provides a variety of opportunities to promote your business or service to your key customers or potential business partners. Our bi-monthly newsletters accept advertising, along with press release information. Our Annual Directory is the “bible” of the industry and provides a complimentary listing, along with advertising opportunities. And advertisements are only available to OPI Members. Networking sessions abound at our Conventions, golf tournaments and social functions – meet with fellow Members and suppliers to share information and make new contacts. The OPI website (www.ontpet.com) keeps interested parties aware of OPI’s benefits and activities on a 7/24 basis.
